Homebush Road, Khandallah
Tucked away down an accessway, completely hidden from those who don’t know its there is this amazing wee gem of a play area with the most incredible views of Wellington City.
The play equipment is simple – its literally a climb up to the slide, a set of swings and a seesaw. There are a couple of seats for parents to chill out on, and there is a heap of space to run around in. The playground catches plenty of sunshine, while also being protected against the prevailing northerly winds that plague wellington.
The park is accessed off a super narrow road, with those white lines down both sides that are designed to put you off parking there. The road is also a bus route, so please be considerate when you park, or you might get a ding. There are also no toilets nearer than the Khandallah shops – a full 2.5km away, so make sure you get the kids to go before you leave home.
We still love this play area, despite not visiting often.
